April 19 is National Poker Day! Known as a high-stakes gambling game, poker is often attributed as the game played in Gold Rush saloons in the 1850s. However, faro was the popular game of choice by gold miners. For today, Howard looked to the Stockton High School Print Shop Collection for some inspiration, considering much of the letterpress cuts are of Stockton businesses in the 1960s.
